Putnam County

Putnam County is located in North Central Florida, 46 miles south of the City of Jacksonville, and 40 miles east of Gainesville. Its central location provides easy access to such educational facilities as the University of North Florida, the University of Florida, and several community colleges. The ancient St. Johns River flows through much of the county, and is world reknown for its bass fishing and natural beauty.

The population of Putnam County has been growing at a slow but steady pace, with a current population of aproximately 75,000. The labor force in Putnam County is nearly 32,000 strong. The county benefits from the CSX rail line that runs through it, as well as US highway 17. The Jacksonville International Airport, as well as the deep water port at Jaxport are a short drive to the north.

The new Putnam County Business Park has just completed the first phase of development, and is a "Class A", shovel ready site. The park has a wide variety of parcels sizes available, and is adjacent to the City of Palatka's Kay Larkin Airport Industrial Park.
