Hamilton County

Hamilton County is located in North Central Florida, and shares its northern border with the State of Georgia. The county's western border is defined by the Withlacoochee River, while its southern and eastern boundaries are formed by the famous Suwannee River. Hamilton County is bisected by I-75, a major north/south corridor, and the east/west corridor of I-10 lies just south of the county's southern border. These provide the county with easy access to the deep water port and international airport in Jacksonville, as well as major markets of the southeastern United States.  Rail service through the county is provided by Norfolk Southern Railways.

The population of Hamilton County has grown steadily since 2000, and is currently estimated to be aproximately 14,300. The largest private sector employer is in phosphate mining, which employs nearly 1,000 residents.
